This is a link to a great little article by @stevecheney about the developing location-based market dynamics. Although many are focused on the constant tug-o-war between foursquare and Gowalla with big brothers Google and Facebook overshadowing them, it was encouraging to read this:
“Geolocation is a great place for a nimble, focused startup to create an empire, even as check-ins become a commodity, and regardless of the fact that Google, Facebook et. al are now joining the party.”
